Quick Look Back

My first year as a Professional was a steep learning curve, the Europro tour really taught me a lot. It took my first few competitions to settle and get used to playing at that level.  Certain aspects that I would not have felt before such as the Sky Sports cameras following you as you line up for a shot and giving interviews with them on final days took time to adjust. Coming towards the end of the season I had got into a nice rhythm and planned out my preparation for each event much better, I finished in the top 20 in 2 of my last 3 events. Between my last few events on the Europro I finished 3rd in the European Tour stage one of Q-School, starting 5 over after 3 holes on day one, I fought back being helped by shooting a course record 62 in the third day, qualifying for Stage 2 in Desert Springs. I arrived 3 days early to get settled and have my game at its best before the start of the event. Playing a practice round the day before I felt that after a long season my game had hit its peak and I was really looking forward to teeing up with the chance of winning my tour card. Unfortunately things happen in sport and I was ruled out of the tournament shortly after playing my last practice round. I had slipped on the stairs in my apartment and broken a bone in my foot and my season was over. A small silver lining following my withdrawal I was told I would be given an exemption for the 2019 Q-school and get to go straight back to stage 2 in 2019. Sport always has its twists and turns unfortunately mine came at the wrong time but I am back fully fit and healthy with a special thanks TJ Reid health and fitness and Roche injury clinic for all their help and support to get me back fitter and stronger and looking forward to 2019.

My Recovery

2019 Plan

Following the disappointment at the end of last year, I have worked very hard over the last few months to get back stronger than ever. I have set many goals and plans for 2019. My main goal for 2019 is to win my European Tour card at the end of the year. To get there I have a whole summer of golf to look forward to. I have qualified for the final of The European Challenge Cup which is being held at Bunclody Golf Club in May. Then onto the Europro schedule, I also hope to play in different events I have selected to have the best opportunity of achieving my goals. Along the way I hope to play in as many Challenge Tour events as possible, invites depending. Also playing in a some qualifiers for different European tour events such as the British Open with confidence of qualifying after missing out by just 2 shots last year. This will all lead to the European Tour Stage 2 of Q-school in November. The Schedule planned for next year involves playing in the below Europro events while adding in any Challenge and European tour events.

To get to the level I need to be I put a lot of work in behind the scenes , I work very hard on my fitness and swing along with my nutrition to get the best out of my game. I am lucky to have a lot of support in order to reach the top of my game. My typical week day would alternate like this:

I am really looking forward to all the challenges 2019 has to offer and cannot wait to get back onto the course playing competitive golf.
